Commissioned Works
These pages document the construction of my commissioned works. Included are studies, notes, drafts and the final work. These projects are collaborations, guided by the specific needs of each client.
Hall Commission: South Loop Panorama
This print was commissioned by the Halls, a couple local to the South Loop. They want to celebrate the neighborhood, but also highlight the proximity of the lake and downtown proper. The print is currently in progress and I've included below the different stages of development - reconnaissance images, notes and details, as we frame and focus the final image.
Robyn Hitchcock at CIMMFest 2010
Singer, songwriter, all-around brilliant musician-philosopher Robyn Hitchcock played to a sold out crowd at Schubas during CIMMFest 2010. Hitchcock made a name for himself as the Soft Boys front man and has since released 15 albums. He's the twisted poet voice of the British post punk generation. With the Soft Boys, Hitchcock pioneered the psychedelic folk-rock sound that influences much of today's alternative music scene.
The Etscheid Commissions
In this series I document a small cross-section of the trains and bridges that connect downtown Chicago. The colors and detail in these prints is attributed to my Multi-Exposure process.
Sean and Sarah O'Neill
We are documenting Chicago's South Loop with attention to Folio Square Building (124 W. Polk). The studies were taken w/ a camera phone, while the drafts are built out in my Multi-Exposure process. They all illustrate a landscape under heavy construction with limited elevated space. The final product will be a spray-coated archival print measuring up to 67" wide.
