Glamour II Veneer Coating

Breathing Color Protection
While glass is a great way to protect a photograph, it's hardly an economical solution. This is especially true when framing a large image. Add to the equation UV light filtering and anti-glare qualities and the price of that glass soon accounts for a majority of the framing cost.

After a year of testing protective coatings, I'm proud to say that I've chosen a solution from California startup Breathing Color. The combination of their Glamour II Veneer and Optica One Fine Art Paper not only protects against scratches, moisture and UV light, but the colors scream off the paper.

Application

I personally apply the veneer to each print. To guarantee an even coating, free of imperfections I've adopted the same process that auto body experts use - spray coating with an HPLV gun in a controlled spray booth. The result is a crisp, smooth finish with brilliant color that will stand up to scratches, moisture and UV light. All this at a fraction of the cost of glass.

Cost

Cost of the Glamour II Veneer process is based on the length of the largest dimension of the piece to be coated. To mimic the appearance of a matte and to increase the overall size of the framed piece, an additional white border may be requested. When factoring cost, this border will contribute to the overall length.
