New Panorama Technique

One of the problems I have with the film panorama from the recon shoot is the lack of foreground information. The lens is sharp, but it is not wide enough to capture the nearby streets - the resulting panorama seems awkward to me, it is very skinny - not the same proportions that we had spoken about. Rollover the film panorama below to compare it to the digital panorama.

To combat this problem I've acquired a new digital camera. It captures images faster than the old camera (and much faster than the film camera). Using this new camera, I can create a panorama with 3 vertical frames, instead of just one. This allows us to see more sky and more foreground - giving more access to the immediate neighborhood. Capturing 3 rows of images in a film panorama would be impossible as the process takes so long that the light and clouds would change dramatically from beginning to end. This new digital camera is currently the best method of I have for capturing the close and far away details across a full 180° view.
